sol devils go long

All Sol Devils are required to be sizable donors to the athletic program. With that comes the opportunity for us to take on special projects within the Athletic Department and provide rapid fundraising assistance where necessary. Listed below are a couple of our recent fundraising accomplishments.

Sol Devil Field

The annual Camp Tontozona practice in Payson, Arizona is one of Sun Devil Football’s greatest traditions. Unfortunately, it was at risk of ending due to poor playing conditions that were impacting player safety. A new artificial turf field needed to be constructed at a cost of one million dollars. Athletics staff knew just who to ask to get this important project funded. The Sol Devils stepped up in a big way and raised the necessary funds to get the project completed. The field was ready for the 2019 summer practice and was named, Sol Devil Field with the Sol Devil logo appearing at the 25 yard-lines.

In 2016 Coach Graham approached the Sol Devils and asked for assistance in paying for the wall graphics for the new Student Athletic Facility in the north end zone of Sun Devil Stadium. We were able to quickly mobilize and get this $25,000 project funded.

While meeting with the football team in 2013, we asked if there was anything in particular they needed help with. Coach Graham mentioned that the football trams were old and beginning to fail. Replacement of the trams was a $400,000 project. Within 48 hours the Sol Devils had secured $250,000 in funding and within a month the entire project was funded.
